Weigh the beef raw and the pasta dry. This version uses beef broth and includes the spinach, which is optional in the original; both are included in the nutrition shown.

Garlic, paprika, chili powder, salt and black pepper to taste. These are not included in the nutrition figures.

How to make it

  1. Dice the onion and pepper. Soften them with garlic in the measured olive oil in a deep pan.
  2. Add the beef, break it up and cook until browned. Season with paprika and chili powder.
  3. Stir in the tomato sauce, broth and dry pasta. Simmer, stirring often, until the pasta is tender; add a little water if the pan dries out.
  4. Fold in the spinach until wilted, then serve.
