AI assistant
An AI assistant, in food logging, is a conversational model such as ChatGPT or Claude that understands a sentence about a meal, asks what is missing, and writes the record for the person. IZeat works with the assistant the customer already uses rather than building its own: the assistant reads the meal, does the arithmetic, calls IZeat's tools to record it, and relays IZeat's receipt in the customer's language.
The assistant does three things well that a search box does badly: it understands "the rest of yesterday's curry", it asks the two questions that carry the calories, how much and cooked in what, and it reads a label and checks that its figures agree with each other. What it must not do is invent a number, and that is where IZeat's rules bind: every item carries a source, an estimate is recorded as one, and the reply narrates from what IZeat wrote, never from what the model believes it sent.
People already log meals by chat with no product behind it, and the pieces they miss are the ones IZeat adds: a record that persists, a day computed from its rows, a target compared to, a history that can be read back. The assistant stays theirs, in their language, with whatever else it does for them; IZeat is the tool it picks up when the subject is food.
