Eating out
Eating out is any meal prepared by someone else outside the home, a restaurant, a takeaway, a friend's table, where the ingredients and the portions are not the eater's to weigh. IZeat records a meal out as an estimate, after the assistant has asked the two or three questions that change the figure most, and the customer can say where they ate so the estimate carries its context.
The protocol is fixed: what the dish was, about how much, and what it was cooked or dressed in. Then the assistant estimates from a description and marks every item estimate; the customer may add the setting, restaurant, takeaway, friends, and the reply keeps it. A menu with printed calories is kept as read, and the item is recorded as an estimate that quotes it, since the macros are reasoned.
Eating out is where every tracker is dishonest by default, because the database has a "restaurant chicken curry" entry that pretends to know. IZeat prefers a marked estimate with its questions answered to a precise-looking number with nothing behind it, and the community that quit other trackers asks for the same. The estimate is useful; the pretence is not.
