RMR
RMR, resting metabolic rate, is the energy a body uses over a day at rest but awake, measured or estimated under less strict conditions than BMR and usually a little higher. IZeat stores no RMR and uses no equation for it; the customer's calorie target is the only reference a day is compared to, and it is theirs to set.
RMR is measured with a breath test in a clinic or estimated from age, sex, height and weight with published equations; the best studied lands within 10 percent of measurement for most people, not all (Frankenfield 2005). IZeat's rule is that any formula it used would be named and sourced, and it uses none for the body; it records what was eaten and compares it to a chosen target. The assistant can discuss RMR as the customer's general assistant; nothing of it is written into IZeat.
RMR and BMR are often used interchangeably in calculators, and the difference matters less than the margin of the estimate itself. What matters to a record is the input side, which a calculator cannot see: a customer whose week of honest rows sits at 2 100 kcal a day with a steady weight has learnt their maintenance from the source that counts. IZeat spends its effort on making those rows easy to keep.
