NEAT
NEAT, non-exercise activity thermogenesis, is the energy spent on everything that is neither sleeping, eating nor deliberate exercise: walking, standing, fidgeting, housework. IZeat measures no activity of any kind; it records what was eaten, and a customer who wants to reason about NEAT does it with their assistant, outside the record.
NEAT is the part of daily expenditure that varies most between two people of the same size and the part that drops quietly during a deficit, which is one reason estimates drift over a long cut. Because IZeat records intake only, none of that enters its figures; the target the customer sets is where any allowance for activity lives, and the period summary shows whether the intake side held.
NEAT is a good example of why IZeat refuses to compute expenditure: the honest answer is that nobody knows a person's NEAT without a lab, and a number printed with confidence would be a guess dressed as a measurement, the one thing the product exists to avoid. What the record can do is stay complete through the weeks when the body adapts, so the customer and their assistant have the food side as a fact.
