Meal type

A meal type is the slot of the day a meal belongs to: breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner or evening. IZeat records one meal of each type per day, so "add a banana to my lunch" completes the lunch instead of creating a second one, and a day reads in the order it was eaten.

Six types, one active meal per type and per day, enforced by the database as well as by the tool. A second lunch is refused with the choice that makes sense: add it to the lunch that exists, or record it under another type if it was eaten at another time. The day is shown breakfast first whatever the hour each meal was recorded, so a breakfast corrected in the afternoon still comes first.

Six slots is a deliberate choice: enough to read a day at a glance, few enough that a model never has to guess which one a customer meant. The order is fixed by the type, not by the clock, so a day always reads the way it was eaten. A meal that does not fit a slot, a late-night snack, a second dinner after training, goes to the evening slot or joins the meal it belongs to.

Put it into practice: The meal types and their order.
