Prompt

A prompt, in food logging, is the sentence a person writes to their assistant about a meal, a question or a correction, in their own words and their own language. IZeat needs no special phrasing: "log lunch", "what's left today", "the rice was 200 g", "same breakfast as yesterday" all work, because the assistant does the understanding and IZeat's tools take the structured result.

A good prompt is a complete one, and completeness for a meal means quantities: grams or millilitres, or a cue the assistant can convert and say it converted. Brands and weights beat pictures. A prompt that leaves a quantity out gets a question back rather than a guess, which is the rule IZeat's tools enforce by returning an instruction, item two has no quantity, ask how much, instead of an error code.

The prompt is where the twenty taps went: one sentence replaces weigh, search, pick, fix the portion, repeat. It is also where the customer's language lives, since the assistant reads the meal in French or Portuguese and IZeat only ever sees the items. The documentation's "what to say" section is a list of sentences, not a syntax.

Put it into practice: Logging a meal.
