TDEE

TDEE, total daily energy expenditure, is the estimated number of calories a person's body uses in a day, resting metabolism plus activity. IZeat does not compute a TDEE and never turns one into a target; if a customer wants an estimate, their assistant can help them reason about it outside IZeat, and the target they choose is what IZeat records against.

TDEE is always an estimate, built from a resting figure and an activity multiplier, and the multiplier is where most of the uncertainty lives. IZeat keeps that reasoning out of the product on purpose: the rule is that no formula is used unless it is named and sourced, and no number is prescribed. What IZeat can show instead is the customer's own record, which is what a TDEE estimate is trying to guess.

The reason IZeat stays out of TDEE is not modesty; it is that a formula gives a number with a false precision, and a false precision becomes a rule people punish themselves with. An assistant talking with someone about their week, their training and their sleep gives a better range than a table, and a target chosen from that conversation is one the person owns. IZeat's part is to keep the record honest against it.
